College Is Not For Everyone

College might not be everyone's first choice for post-high school plans and it is totally fine.

College Is Not For Everyone

For most of my life, I have had plans to go to college. The idea was college, good degree, good job, make money, be successful. And now with two years at Gonzaga completed, I am realizing that it might have been a better idea to take a gap year between college. Or an unspecified amount of time off from school.

Plenty of people I know are doing it. Working to make money, working to figure out what your life goals should be, working to find out what you like and dislike about certain professions.

Now do not get me wrong, I am glad to have gone to college straight out of high school, but if I could do it again, I would definitely take a break. When I graduated high school, I was a 17-year-old kid, naive, confused, and with lofty dreams about the future.

I started out in the School of Engineering, then moved to a Business Major with a Computer Science minor. I am excited to see what the future holds.

Taking a year or two off can be a really good way to figure out what you want to do with your life (minus the stress of school), and catch your breath.

And if going to school is not in your cards, so be it. Move to a cool city and start over, be who you really want to be.

No matter what decisions you may make about college, just remember that it will all be okay in the end as long as you are happy.

People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
