I decided on improving things I can control instead of stressing about what I can't. Maybe that will make me stress less about those things.
Get Better Grades

Last semester, I definitely didn't do as well as I can. I slacked a little too much and performed under my abilities. But why worry about last semester, which I cannot change anymore when I can think about the upcoming semester, which I can change? I'm going to push myself to do my absolute best, by any means necessary!
Get In Better Shape

This one's pretty typical, but I did okay with it in 2018, so I'm going to push myself to do even better in 2019! I don't necessarily want to lose weight (although I'd certainly like to), but I want more endurance and strength, mostly.
Communicate

I'm a shy person with a terrible case of social anxiety. I don't even ask waiters for more napkins at restaurants. So, another goal for 2019 is to communicate more! Tell people about how I feel! Let people know when they crossed a line! Make my wants and needs known!
Eat Better

This one goes along with #2. Instead of reaching for the Doritos or popcorn when I'm hungry, in 2019 I want to try to eat healthier! Fruit, veggies, the whole nine yards. Not to mention drinking more good, old-fashioned water.
Draw More

I've been drawing since I was in elementary school and teaching myself to get better since about middle school. I love art and I love to draw, paint, and write, so I really want to improve more in 2019. What better way to do that than practice? My goal is to ideally draw something every day, but since I know that may not happen, I'll hold myself to something a little more realistic- draw 4-5 times a week.
Learn A New Instrument

I've been playing clarinet for about nine years now, and while I do absolutely love it, I'd like to learn something new. I think I'd like to learn trombone or flute, but who knows? I just want to learn something I didn't know before. And if I have to teach myself, that's okay too- I taught myself how to draw, how to play piano (albeit not very well), and how to play some clarinet. If I can do it once, I can do it again!
My new year resolutions may be kind of typical but that's okay. I know I can stick to them and make progress towards my dreams, and you can do the same!
