College move-in day is so stressful, but it is the beginning of your college life!! From someone who has experienced two college move-in days, here are some tips.

1. You are going to overpack

There's absolutely no avoiding this. All of the lists your college, Bed Bath and Beyond, Walmart, etc give you telling you what you need for college really piles up. Coming from someone who has experienced dorm life, you will only need a fraction of what they recommend.

2. The closet is a joke

So the dorm provides you with a "closet" or some sort of clothing storage, but it's the size of a shoe box. My recommendation to you is to only bring one season ahead. So if you move in August then bring summer/fall clothes, but leave the bulky winter stuff at home. It'll save you room, and save you a headache on move-in day. Oh and you will only end up wearing the same five tshirts, so maybe just bring those LOL

3. Communicate with your roomie prior to move in day

The shoe box you have to live in all year is so tiny, so there is no room for two tvs, keurigs, microwaves, etc so just like give your roomie a heads up, oh and it'll help save y'all some money because you can split the costs!!

4. Be nice to your fam

To whoever poor soul got roped into moving you in, please just thank them. It will be so hot and stressful, and you are lucky someone vollunteered to help you move every single thing into your room. And make sure to just hug your parents because it is a big day for them too because their bird is leaving the nest.

Don't forget your cowbell

Or whatever tradition your school has. My University has the cherished cowbell, which is required no exceptions, so that is the one thing that you make sure you have.

You will sweat, laugh, cry, and yell. You will say goodbye to your fam, and hello to the rest of your life. You will finally meet your roommate, and you will learn how to live on your own. Congrats on making it to move-in day, oh and HAIL STATE!!!!!!!!!!

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

Bucket List To Live In The Now

Find excitement in your life and start exploring wherever you are right here, right now.

mu bucket list

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…

Great Value Colleges

If you go to or went to Kent State, then more than likely you have done or will do some of these things.

1. You’ve slipped and fallen on the ice at least once.

The winters at Kent are brutal, and while the heated sidewalks and some great snow boots are always a help, there’s no chance you won’t bust it on the ice at least once in your four plus years at school.
