So move in day is finally upon us. Between the hustle and bustle of town traffic, and wide-eyed Freshman moving in for the first time, its a mixture of chaos and beauty. This year, I was lucky enough to move into my dream college, and I couldn't be more excited for where life will take me next-- but I can't help but feel the nerves. Living in a place five hours from home in a whole new part of New York is stressful to think about. I'm leaving a whole life behind me, getting ready to start bigger and better things. As I start my first week of classes, homesickness strikes, but isn't it the same for everyone? Here are some things that I want the people back home to know, even if I'm not brave enough to tell it to them myself.
To my friends, I can't believe how much I am going to miss you guys, but I know all of us are onto bigger and better things. No matter where any of us are, I know we have an unbreakable bond that will always draw us back together. I can't thank you all enough for what you have helped me overcome, and I can't wait to share new memories with you in the future. I love you guys to death.
To my family, you guys know how much I love you. No matter how much attitude I give you sometimes, I know you will always be there for me, especially my parents. Thank you for being the wonderful people you are, and for inspiring me to be the best version of myself. To my sister, you may be a real pain in the butt sometimes, but you should know that I'll always be there for you, and no matter what happens, you can lean on me. I love you guys more than words could possibly describe.
To my old high school, and the people in it, thank you for motivating me to strive always do amazing things. From the teachers who would give their students the world, to my fellow peers that constantly showing me how to accept people for themselves, you guys were a huge part of my life-- whether we were friends or not.
Finally, this one goes out to my future. I hope you are bright, and I hope to be nothing but a better me later on in life. College is a place to grow, and to really find yourself and make lifelong friends. It may only be my second day, but I have high hopes for what is to come. Everyone is always telling me that college was the best time of their lives, and I truly hope that in four years time I can say the same.
So, to everyone, I hope your days are bright and you are out making new memories. I can only hope for happiness for everyone, may all your days be filled with blessings.
