College Coffee

With my second year of college coming right around the corner, I think it's easy enough to say that coffee is a huge deal for most students. It's the added energy that we need to make it through those dreaded 8am classes and those late nights writing essays and taking exams. With this being said, each major speaks to a different person and so does coffee, so here are some college majors as types of coffee.

1. Education: Iced Coffee

Iced coffee is the perfect choice for an education major because it is refreshing, cold, and is easy to be personalized. The refreshing and cold aspect is perfect for needing to be awake and ready to handle children.

2. Biology: Cappuccino

A cappuccino provides a biology major with the perfect amount of caffeine to combat those late nights working on lab reports and study for big exams. This particular coffee is made with espresso which offers a little bit more of a boost compared to normal coffee caffeine levels, plus you can get pretty leaf designs on cappuccinos!

3. Math: Mochaccino

A mochaccino is very similar to a cappuccino except it has the added sweet flavor of chocolate. I've heard chocolate has some added benefits when it comes to stress and anxiety. I don't know about you but math stresses me out.

4. Engineering: Flat White

Like the science and math majors, Engineering majors spend a lot of time awake working on papers, projects, etc. so they need a good caffeine kick. A flat white will offer this due to its espresso base and fancy foam top.

5. Chemistry: Espresso Shots

The espresso is definitely needed when it comes to all types of chemistry! These majors spend early mornings and late nights working on labs, lab reports, solving chemical equations, and writing long, long research reports. Although I may be a little biased on this one.

6. Business: Latte

The only particular reason I believe a business major is like a latte because lattes are fancy and professional looking. They are pleasing to the eye and also have the option of beautiful foam art.

7. Law: Black Coffee

I'm comparing Law majors to black coffee because of its distinct flavor. People who drink black coffee do it primarily because they like the authentic, rich, strong, and bitter taste that coffee gives off which you may not get when cream and sugar are added.

8. Gender Studies: Frappuccino

Frappuccinos are a very unique type of drink. They are usually served cold and made with coffee but there are other options where they consist of strawberries, bananas, and cream which get blended up with ice. Gender Studies is like this drink because it is versatile and can be very refreshing.

9. Languages (including ASL): Typical American Coffee

The typical American coffee is the base of American society, which is why it complements language so much. Without languages, what are we? Without a typical cup of American coffee, how do we function?

10. IT/Computer Science: Doppio

Doppio is the perfect match for IT and computer science majors because the coffee is brewed through 2 filters and then 2 shots of espresso is added. These majors need the caffeine for all the tiresome coding they do and other meticulous tasks they perform.

11. Arts: French Pressed

The arts are known to be very elegant, fancy, and memorable which is exactly what you'll get from a french pressed coffee. The whole meaning behind french pressing coffee is to extract more flavor and it gets rid of any extra gasses that may be in the coffee after brewing.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
