College Life Through Dustin Henderson

Relatable quotes from the underdog of Stranger Things.

College Life Through Dustin Henderson

Eleven. Demogorgon. Eggo Waffles.

If these words spark interest rather than confusion, you may be a fan of the Netflix original, Stranger Things. The incredible eight episodes of this series have become a hit amongst many! There are so many aspects of the show that keep viewers on their toes.

Now while the suspense is thrilling, there is also a bit of comic relief thrown in to allow people who get scared easily (like myself) time to pry their hands away from their eyes. And more often than not, this comic relief is supplied by Dustin Henderson. I have to say, this curly haired fella is quite the relatable character. Here are just a few examples of how Dustin Henderson represents the crazy life of a college student.

When your friend drives you to the store and you "accidentally" end up in the junk food aisle.

When you walk into class late and everyone is staring at you.

When the crosswalk is clearly allowing pedestrians to cross, but a car still comes swerving around the corner.

When you make eye contact with people as you stare out your window.

When you haven't tried every Cookout milkshake, but your friend won't go with you at 1:00 am.

When you walk into class and someone is sitting in your spot, so you kindly ask them to move.

When you hear about study abroad programs and get overly excited to experience new cultures.

When you have nothing to eat so you grab your roommate's leftovers...and they catch you.

When your friend asks you to study now for a test that is next week.

When you push aside your homework for just one Netflix episode and suddenly it's 3:00 am.

We all love Barb, and even though "you're an idiot, Steve Harrington"...we still love you too, but I think Dustin takes the cake! He is witty and also very caring. He just darn well keeps the gang together throughout the show!

So whether you have just gotten on the bandwagon or you're a longtime fan, we are all sad that season two has not come yet. Hang in there friends!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
