It's heading into week two of the school year and students cannot wait until Thanksgiving Break. Piling homework, schools events, and meeting new friends, professors and advisors can definitely be overwhelming, speaking for myself as a college freshman. I definitely feel a mix of emotions right at the moment. I'm missing my family but I'm also having a great time getting to know people and experiencing being completely independent for the first in my life. After meeting so many people this past week, I decided to ask some of my dormmates to sum up college in one word. They are literally sitting next to me as I type this last minute article up. Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here.
