7 Taylor Swift Facial Expressions That Depict College Life

Die-hard Swifty fans find them charming and endearing, some people find them a little weird and quirky, either way, they basically sum up my college experience.

The year was 2006. I remember getting my very first Taylor Swift CD in middle school. It was amazing. Ever since I heard "Our Song" I have loved Taylor’s music, outfits, personality, cats and of course, her very popular facial expressions. Now I know those facial expressions depict every emotion or thought I've ever had since I have been in college. One more reason to love T-Swizzle.

1. When it’s syllabus week but the teacher decides to skip the syllabus and just go straight into material, which you aren’t prepared for.

It is syllabus week, so let's read the syllabus. I mean it's truly misleading and unfortunate.2. When someone asks about your plans for after college.

At Thanksgiving, Christmas, on Facebook posts, over the phone, through parents - whatever the outlet used, you are constantly being asked about your major and what you intend to do with it. We aren't sure, that's why we are in college.

3. When you discover someone in your class is from your hometown.

When you discover someone in your class came from the same place you did, you get all like this and then go on to ask about what school each of you went to and where you love to shop.

4. When a guy tries to hit on you at a party but you’re just like, “bye.”

Next time you go to a party, just show the guy this picture, because Taylor Swift did it perfectly.

5. When you tell your parents college life is wonderful but really your life is falling apart.

*On the phone* "Yeah, mom, it's all good. I promise I have money and straight A's." In reality, you haven't checked your bank account in weeks and you know you failed that last math exam.

6. When someone takes your squad’s table in the dining hall.

I mean, sure, we aren't in high school anymore, but we all have that squad spot, so don't take it or this face from Taylor Swift is coming out.

7. When you are reunited with your friends after a long break.

Being at home with your hometown friends and your family is wonderful, but you always miss your college friends and can't wait to see them again.

Taylor Swift's facial expressions might depict her emotions in that exact moment but her facial expressions depict every college student's thoughts. I'm sure we have all made those facial expressions at some point, too, but they're so much better when Taylor makes them.

I have a thousand photos of Taylor Swift downloaded on to my computer, but that's okay, because it's Taylor Alison Swift.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
