College Life As Told by Spongebob Quotes

Spongebob may be a show created for and targeted to children but that doesn't mean it isn't completely relatable to college students and we didn't all grow up with it. Here are 15 times Spongebob quotes reminded us exactly of college life.

1. Everyone during finals week:

We can all agree finals week is the worst week of the semester.

2. During Class:

It's not that we think the professor doesn't know what they're talking about, it's just that what we're expecting to do in the amount of time we have is ridiculous.

3. When it's your first week of college and you haven't made any friends yet:

Whether you came to college alone and didn't know anyone for the first week or so or your friends have all ditched you before, we all know what it's like to be alone.

4. When your friend is helping you park in the last space close to your residence hall:

There isn't enough room because they car on one side of you doesn't know how to park but the next closest parking spot to your hall is a long walk away and you have a friend to guide you, so, why not?

5. When a bunch of people who have never come to class before show up to take the final exam:

We don't know how they do it. We don't know why they do it. We don't know if it works. But there are always brand new faces that show up to take the final exam in your class.

6. When you thought you did well on an exam but your professor tells you your score:

You felt confident about it and you were just so close to passing.

7. When you finally graduate and realize you have a useless degree and you're thousands of dollars in debt:

It seemed like a good idea when you declared it but now you aren't sure what actual job you can get with this and the debt is haunting you.

8. When finals are over and your brain is completely fried:

You've completely cleared your brain of everything but Shakespeare so you really can't remember anything else.

9. When you have the opportunity to retake an exam but you're as equally unprepared for the retake:

You beg to retake it but you forget to study once again. It happens to the best of us.

10. When you're fairly sure your roommate hates you but you pretend you don't notice:

After awhile even outsiders can see the metaphorical wall they out up between you two.

11. When your senior friends graduate:

You love them but you can't show it, for both of your sake.

12. When you think about things that are better than group projects:

There is nobody that likes group projects.

13. When people are cutting you in line in the cafeteria but you're too shy to stop them:

You'll for sure stand your ground from this point on, though.

14. When you stay up until 3 A.M. doing homework:

Every professor either assigned an unusual amount of homework or planned a test for this week.

15. When your professor tells you something that will be on the test:

A crucial time for note-taking.

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
