The experiences that you make in college are a lot like a roller coaster. You will have some amazing times with the friends that you make and will learn from your experiences. You will also be beyond stress and will develop a love-hate relationship with your school. This emotional roller coaster is best described by the one and only Jess Day from "New Girl." Her quirky and fun attitude perfectly describes the college experience.

1. The more that your friends get to know you, the more that they see the real side of you.

If they are your true friends, then they will stick with you.

2. When you get to eat anything but the dining hall food.

The dining hall food is never good. The rare occasions that you leave campus to get food are important moments because you forget what real food tastes like.

3. Your bed is your best friend.

You are constantly tired and need caffeine in order to function. Naps are essential and when you get back from your classes you just want to lie in bed all day.

4. Presentations can be painful.

This will especially speak to you if giving presentations is a struggle for you. The pep talks before giving a presentation are constantly running through your head; you tell yourself that you got this, and that your face will not turn into a tomato.

5. When you or your friends see someone attractive and internally freak out.

They play it cool but need to stay in the dining hall for another half hour because he's there.

6. When your friends help you pick out your clothes for going out.

You always need your roommate and friends advice on what to wear out to the club.

7. Getting called on in class when you're not paying attention.

There are always those moments when your professor will randomly call on you. This will usually happen when you are in the middle of daydreaming. There’s always that moment of panic where you sit there in silence staring at the professor.

8. Getting the best advice from your friends.

You always have your friends to keep you sane. Remember, they always give the best advice.

9. When your friends are blunt with you because they care.

Your college friends will be blunt and call you out on things but it is important that you know they are saying these things because they care and the majority of the time they are actually right.

10. Taking care of each other when you party too hard.

Your friends will always be there to help you after too much partying at the club. They will make fun of you but those are usually great nights that you can laugh about with them.

11. When friends and family ask how you are doing.

When your family and friends from home ask about how you are doing in school in the middle of your intense work load, you try to play it off cool but you always end up telling them what's really going on.

12. When you have no idea what's going on in your classes.

There will be times where the professor will give a whole lecture and you will have no idea what is being talked about. At some point you have to find a way to figure it out because next thing you know there is a test on it.

13. Midterms and Finals week.

These weeks are usually the worst weeks in college. There will be many nights of all-nighters full of studying.

14. Halloween.

Halloween is a great excuse to party even more and take the stress off.

15. When your friend has a car on campus.

If they are a true friend, they will take you out to eat, and most importantly will take you to Dunkin' Donuts.

16. When you get into a fight with your friend.

If you are someone like me who hates confrontation, you will find yourself having to suck it up because you can't escape your friends. It's best to deal with the situation immediately because you know that whatever fight it is that it's probably stupid.

17. When the people in your dorm building are loud.

The worst is when you just hear people screaming for no reason at ungodly hours. There are also times where people are randomly running in the halls for dear life.

18. When you ace a test and do good in your classes.

It's an awesome feeling when you work incredibly hard on a test or assignment and get a good grade on it.

19. Netflix will always be a part of your daily schedule.

There will always be room in your life for Netflix. Whether it is "The Office" or "Dexter," you know that these shows will help you try to forget the million things that you are supposed to be doing.

20. When people feel that their majors are more important than yours.

The most annoying thing is when other people feel the need to share that they get the most workload or that their majors are more important than yours. This isn't a competition and every field is different and not easy. We should all just accept the fact that we all work hard and are going to be in important jobs in our futures.

21. Finding yourself in college.

College will honestly help you to find your identity and be comfortable with who you are.

22. Making some of the best friendships.

You always have a great time with your friends and find yourself in situations that you will talk about with them forever. Whether it is having movie nights or going out together, you know you will always have fun with your girls.

23. Having a blast because college can be really fun.

College can be stressful but overall you will have some of the best times. You will learn more about yourself and will make some of the best friendships.

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
