10 Real Reasons All College Kids Can't Wait Until September

August is here and for most of us, that means that school is going to be starting quite soon. For those in high school, I know you are probably dreading going back to school because I know I always did. Who wants to be stuck in a building for 8+ hours a day where all of your activities are pre-determined for you? No one, so I honestly feel bad for you, but I will tell you that it does get better.

For those in college, if you are anything like me, you are probably counting down the days until you are back on your college campus living your best life with your friends. Going back to college means freedom, friends, and fun with no parents to control your every move like they do when you are home for the summer.

These are the REAL reasons college kids can't wait to get back...

1. You see all your friends!

Giphy

You have been away from your BFFs all summer and you are dying to see all of them in person. The group chat has been constantly blowing up since mid-July with plans that y'all are going to do when you are reunited in September. Even though you told them all about your summer fling through your daily texts, calls, and FaceTime, you can't wait to tell them about that cutie in person.

2. There's no curfew.

Giphy

If you are back home for the summer and live with your parents, you probably have some sort of curfew. Your parents can't seem to understand that you are literally doing random stuff until 3 a.m. while you are at college and think you need an 11 p.m. curfew. The above is probably you when you are out in some random cornfield with your friends back home and you look at your phone to see it is 1 a.m. and you have 15 missed calls from your parents. You feel like you are back in high school and you know one of the best parts of going back to school is no longer having a curfew!

3. You have complete access to local cuisine.

Giphy

No matter what anyone else thinks, you'll always know that your college town has the best local food places. Plans have been made to go to your favorite local places as soon as you get back to stuff your face full of the food that you had to live all summer without. You can't wait to finally be reunited with some of the food that you swear only tastes good from those places and to spend all your money from your summer job eating there!

4. You have full access to the rec.

Giphy

After all summer of saying you'll work out, you probably didn't and that's okay. Now that you are back at school, you have access to the Rec which means you can work out to your heart's content and you have friends to workout with! You can also go to just show off those new Nike Shorts that you bought last weekend.....

6. Saturdays are for football games.

Giphy

Football may be a huge deal at your school and the stands are packed at every game because they are good. Or football may not be a big deal at your school because they haven't won a game in years and there just may be more football players on the field than people in the stands. Either way, football games are a great excuse to be decked out in your school's gear and cheer your team into victory (or not).

6. You can attend campus events!

Giphy

You won't be bored for another 9-10 months because campus usually has something going on. Organizations and groups are always putting on events across campus and most of the events are free and fun to attend! Plus, it's always an excuse for a study break!

7. Student organizations are constantly meeting!

Giphy

If you are like me, you are involved on campus and no matter what student organization that you belong to, you'll always find yourself missing it during the summer. You can't wait for all of those meetings and events to start again!

8. You can party all weekend!

Giphy

Whether you darty (day party) or prefer to party when the sun goes down, there will always be a party to go to. No longer will you be bored on any Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night.

9. You finally have freedom!

Giphy

You have no curfew and no siblings to tell on you for whatever it is that you do. You no longer have to sneak down to the kitchen at 2 a.m. to get chips and have to worry about your little brother telling on you. You no longer have to worry about your parents turning on the sprinklers just as they see you walking up the sidewalk, four hours past your curfew. Say hello, to the ability to binge watch Netflix in your pj's for six hours without anyone judging you for it.

10. You are back to learning as much as possible!

Giphy

You are attending college for some reason and the main reason is probably to learn something. You can't wait to soak up all the information from those classes you signed up for months ago. Plus, you love your major and you would sit and learn about it anyways.
