A College Girl's Guide To The Perfect Night In

Every once in a while, a girl just needs her Netflix, ice cream, and a face mask.

It’s been a long day, and even though all of your friends are getting ready to go out, applying makeup and picking outfits, you’ve decided tonight is the night that you treat yourself. Tonight is the night you have your very own girl’s night in!

As a college girl juggling a busy schedule, lots of classes and plenty of stressors, sometimes it’s important to take a break from everything and do what makes you happy. A night in is the perfect option and there are a few steps that make it the best it can be.

Here is a college girl’s guide, in the following order, on how to have the perfect night in, as told by a college girl with plenty of experience in this:

1. Finish whatever she had to accomplish.

Whether it be homework, a quiz, or some other responsibility, it’s important to get whatever it is done, so that way she can finally relax, kick back, and enjoy the night.

2. Change into her comfiest clothes she owns.

Sweatpants, a loose t-shirt, some cozy socks, no bra… as long as it’s comfy, it’s the right attire.

3. Take a fresh shower, without the shave.

Even if she feels better with smooth legs, either way, a nice cleansing shower is a great next step in the process of keeping her feeling refreshed.

4. Pour a glass of wine or nonalcoholic calming beverage for those who are underage.

Maybe it’s some wine, a mug of hot chocolate, or some nice herbal tea, but whatever it may be, it is an excellent soothing solution for a calm night to herself.

5. Grab a light snack (or an entire tub of Ben & Jerry’s).

Personally, I go for the Ben & Jerry’s, but a bag of popcorn or some other snack does the trick, too. Food is definitely key in this situation.

6. Binge-watch her current choice Netflix series, or her favorite Rom-Com.

This is a must. What else would she do to pass the time? Unless she’s an avid book-reader, Netflix is ALWAYS the answer.

7. Try a new soothing face mask.

I would recommend one that has some calming or refreshing qualities for the best possible experience, and definitely not the peel-off kind unless she has an above-average pain tolerance.

8. Apply a bit of acne cream, if necessary.

At least for me, acne cream is a lifesaver. Apply a few dots on the problem areas right before bed, and next thing she knows, her face is already looking better the next morning. However, I realize some girls are blessed and acne-free.

9. She should actually use her retainer if she was a victim of the braces phase and owns one.

A night where she actually wears her retainer is huge. I have never met anyone who consistently wears their retainer every single night. So take advantage of the moment and straighten those teeth!

10. Do her nightly social media check

Of course, a quick browse of Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, or whatever network she may use is a must before bed. Can’t go to sleep without being caught up.

11. Head to bed at a relatively reasonable time, because beauty sleep is everything!

Beauty sleep, beauty sleep, beauty sleep! Her body and mind will thank her in the morning after a good night’s sleep.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.

College Informations

Most of us have already started the spring semester, and for those of you who haven't started yet, you suck.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.
