Leggings are slowly becoming a staple in the closets of women everywhere. They're super easy to dress up or dress down. There are ways to do it casually for hanging around the house or running to class, but there's also ways to wearing them to look classy for that internship or just wearing them to rock out on the town. But there are a few rules to cover before getting into things.

Make sure your butt is covered, no if 's, ands, or BUTTS about it

Do NOT wear tan or fleshed colored leggings, it defeats the purpose and makes it look like you aren't wearing pants.

If they are see through, THROW THEM OUT, Burn them, whatever your heart desires, but do not wear them.

Now that that's out of the way, here's what you can do to spice up your outfits:

1. Wear them with a dress.

Ah the classic intent for leggings, always cute and classy. It makes that dress that is just a little too short perfect to wear around the office.

2. Sport a pair of pumps.

With the right pair of heels, any outfit looks pulled together. While 3 inch heels aren't always appropriate for a place of employment, a shorter heel might be just right. This causes the legging to look more like a slim fit trouser.

3. Rock a pair with a sweet pattern.

This trick can definitely be the hardest to master. But the pattern you wear can definitely be toned down to be a jean pattern or single stripe that runs the length of your leg, but this outfit is crucial you choose your accessories wisely.

4. Layers. Layers. Layers.

Who ever said less is more clearly did not know this simple trick. So go ahead throw on that Tank top, button down, sweater, cardigan and that vest. Okay maybe not all of them at the same time, but layers are your friend when trying to look a little more polished.

5. Boots aren't only made for walking.

Riding boots and sometimes a cute pair of booties can do the trick, but it's always safer to go with a higher length boot. Combat boots are not something that fits here, don't try it. Also another big no no is to have skin showing, If your leggings are too short to fit into your boot, get a different pair of leggings. This is not the time to wear those knee-length leggings

6. Accessories are everything.

We covered how critical shoe choice can be, but what's also important is the rest of your accessory choice. That statement necklace, the scarf or even a belt can just pull your whole look together. Handbag choice is also somewhat crucial too so don't forget.

7. Coats, Blazers and Jackets, Oh my!

Sometimes you just need a little extra boost to that outfit, and while some of your options are better for looking cute while out on the town, some really make it office appropriate. Cardigans and Blazers are more likely to keep it cute throughout the day, as where a coat is more looking good on the way. Either way another layer can really help you out.

8. Leather can be your friend.

Leather leggings are SUPER trendy right now, so much that they look like a leather pant opposed to a legging. Or if you don't want to go 100% leather, you can find a legging with leather accents. While a leather legging might not be for everyone, incorporating leather in your outfit elsewhere can add a little class. Shoes, handbags, jackets and belts all can add a little spunk to your outfit.

So whether you're spending a day out with your girls or going into the office, I hope these tips help when you're really scrounging for an outfit. Its always nice to mix it up sometimes but keep it comfy while still looking good.

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
