College GameDay Coming To Kzoo
Western Michigan Football

The day kicks of at 9:00AM on The Sangren Pedestrian Mall. Be there as early as 2-3 hours before hand wearing brown & gold to show your bronco pride to they nation as they Row The Boat against Buffalo at 3:30PM at Waldo.

To all of you from Kalamazoo, I'm sure you have heard that THE ESPN College GameDay will be in Kalamazoo this Saturday November 19 for the Western Michigan football game versus University of Buffalo. For the football fanatics, out there, you know how big of a deal this is. In fact, it's only the second time they have been to a MAC game and the first time ever at a WMU game. For those of you who may not be as football friendly, College GameDay is a pre-game show that lasts three hours and is hosted by some of college football's best and most well known at the site of one of the day's biggest games.

This opportunity has been earned by the 10-0 start for the broncos, their best ever, featuring wins against Big Ten teams Illinois and Northwestern. Since being announced Sunday morning, social media has been buzzing and the atmosphere in and around Western Michigan has changed and I can't wait to see how it will continue to improve and continue as we get closer to game day. If you are from or in the Kalamazoo are, a bronco alum, a student or a football fan in general, I encourage you to get to Waldo early and stay for the game. Be part of the experience, this is an extremely rare opportunity for this university that has NEVER been done before and I don't think you will want to miss it. This day is not only for the team, but the entire university, community, city, MAC conference and so much more.

I don't know how many of you grew up around this sport, but pretty much every saturday morning during the season, my mornings were opened with college gameday, following breakfast, while we went about cleaning the room, doing laundry, working on homework, etc. It sounds insignificant, but I am so excited and proud of the program for putting in all the work to earn this kind of experience for our whole area and getting to be a part of this legendary broadcast. Get out to support these guys who worked so hard thus far and will continue to ROW and grow as they finish the season.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
