Visiting large schools is always fun, especially when it's an SEC school and you don't go to one. Here are some things that are experienced if you attend tailgating and a football game at an SEC school from a private schooler's point of view.
1. I'm buying a pair of tiger ears to wear to the tailgate even though I do not attend this school.
2. We've been walking forever and it feels like we've gone no where, how big is this campus?
And this is just Greek Town. Don't even get me started on the entire school.
3. My private school tolerance could never keep up with these natives.
Tailgating is obviously a sport that my school does NOT participate in...
4. I can count on both hands the awkward encounters I've had with people that I graduated high school with.
This school may be large, but it doesn't make up for the fact that I know about 1/4 of the people that go here.
5. Every single girl here is wearing the exact same outfit.
Black dress, brown boots or cowboy boots, tiger ears, and tiger face tattoo. Wear that and you'll be sure to fit in.
6. There are more adults and families at this football game than college students.
It's easy to see that the tailgating is the main sport for the college students, not the actual game.
7. People are still partying after this game, how much longer can you go?
I was tapped out before the game even started.
8. This culture is incredible, but I'm so happy with my small private school.
Coming to visit for a weekend or two is incredibly fun, but it makes you appreciate your small school culture and how you ultimately did pick the right school.
