Trust me when I say even the smartest kids in college are going to end up making dumb mistakes they wish they never made. It's so easy to tell others what to do and what not to do but when you're in that position it's so much harder to follow your own advice.
Sometimes you're going to make the stupidest mistakes of your life and really question everything, but it's part of the learning experience. You're not just going away to college to choose a career and get a job later, but you're also learning what it's actually like to make your own choices and actually be an adult for once. It's extremely difficult at first but I promise you that things will work out as long as you learn from your mistakes.
I've had so many friends and family members give me advise and life tips and while it's extremely helpful, sometimes when you're a college student you want to believe you know better than everyone else. So, you'll make your own mistakes and then wonder why you didn't just listen to your friends, but at least you'll never do it again.
College is really a learning experience and I feel like many people forget that. You are in the process of finding yourself and that's the most crucial part of college. Yes, education is an extremely vital part of college but so is finding out what type of person you are and want to be. Make your mistakes, live a little, but make sure to still be as safe and smart as possible in college. It'll be the time of your life, I swear, but there will be hard times and you will learn how to eventually handle them.
