The wait is finally over.Football season is underway in the south, and the excitement for Saturday's build up all week. There is just something about the anticipation to watch your favorite team, or any team for that matter, play on that perfectly cut green field. Whether you watch the game from the stands, from a restaurant, or from your big screen and couch, what is it that makes College football season so special?
1. The hype
Game at 12? Wake up at 6am to start tailgate festivities. Along with all the good southern snacks that come along with tailgating, its an opportunity to hangout with fellow fans, and get pumped for the game. There is so much preparation that goes into watching a football game. Your whole day revolves around watching it. The roar of the fans, the playing of the band, watching the team warm up, huddling around all your friends in the stands, all anxious for the game to start.
2. Competition
Nothing is more intense than watching your team run across that field and score against the other team you absolutely hate. You want your team to do well. The yelling when the ref makes a bad call, or when your team is so close to scoring. The tension and feeling of not knowing keeps us glued to the game.
3. The feel of winning
The high of winning is unlike anything. Cheering and celebrating after a good game makes all the loses worth it.
4. Pride for your team
You walk around in your game day outfit with pride. You want everyone to know who you are rooting for, and you feel like you are apart of the team. If they lose, you are sad, if they win, you celebrate a job well done with them. You know the coach, you know the players, and you celebrate when they make a good catch, or score a touchdown.
5. It's something you grew up with
I know ever since I was little I would dress up in a Gator's cheerleading outfit to cheer on the Gators with my mom. Every Saturday we would watch the games, and would even take trips to go to the stadiums. You were raised to watch and love everything about football.
Excited for Game Day yet?
