The time for the 3rd ever college football playoff is coming up once again, and each year the matchups seem to be more intriguing than the last. Who will claim to be the best of the best? I will preview each game with a score prediction as well.
Peach Bowl
Alabama (13-0) vs. Washington (12-1)
Dec. 31, 3:00 p.m.
Preview: This game will feature the dominate defense of Alabama versus the pro-style offense of Washington led by Jake Browning. This will probably be the best quarterback the Tide has played all season. Let's be honest though, the only offensive scheme that slightly bothers this SEC team is the spread offense. We all saw the absolute pummeling when Bama sent USC home crying, and Washington runs almost the same exact offense. This game will be close, when kickoff happens. Alabama will win by a landslide to take them to the national championship. Husky fans cover your eyes, for your own sake.
Score prediction: Alabama 41, Washington 13
Fiesta Bowl
Clemson (12-1) vs. Ohio State (11-1)Dec. 31, 7:00 p.m.
Preview: The Tigers versus the Buckeyes will give us multiple interesting matchups to watch. For one, getting to see J.T. Barret head to head against Clemson's Deshaun Watson is going to be very fun in watching two great playmaking quarterbacks. Another good matchup is comparing the defenses because they both have been hot lately. Although I will say for season-long consistency, Ohio State has the better resume. Finally, the last thing to watch is the coaching matchup. Two of the best coaches in the game right now Urban Meyer (Ohio State) versus Dabo Swinney (Clemson) will be a game to remember. The question is, who opens up the playbook more and risks more? This will be a competitive game up until the very end. I predict Clemson will have more poise to close the game out to crush Ohio State's championship hopes.
Score prediction: Clemson 31, Ohio State 28
College Football Playoff National Championship
(Prediction) Alabama vs. Clemson
Jan. 9, 2017 8:30 p.m.
Preview: A rematch of last year's national championship? Can Watson go the NFL with a ring under his belt and end his college career right? Not if the Crimson Tide have anything to say about it. Who would have guessed this last year but, Alabama's defense is better than last time Clemson faced them. Watson will have his way for a while, but I presume at halftime Bama will make the necessary adjustments to contain their offense enough to take the lead behind the true freshman Jalen Hurts. Sorry Clemson, but once again, so close yet so far away. Who can dethrone Alabama?
Score Prediction: Alabama 35, Clemson 24
