Tallahassee is a college town with what seems like a new restaurant on every corner you turn. I've eaten everything from corndogs from street carts to fine dining in this city. Needless to say, my wallet hates me and my stomach loves me. However, I've created a list of my top 20 go to eats that have gotten me through the past 3 and a half years of college and might just be able to help you achieve that freshman (or in my case senior) 15 even quicker.

1. Dunkin' Donuts 10 minutes before closing.

My freshman year I stumbled upon what I did not realize at the time was a gold mine. Basically I was having a casual Tuesday night donut craving and went to Dunkin' about 10 minutes before closing and ended up getting 3 dozen donuts for free.

The employee working told me that when they close, whatever donuts are left just get thrown away so instead of wasting these precious dough babies, he gave them to me. And so now, 3 years later, you can catch me going to Dunkin', way too often, 10 minutes before closing for the sweetest deal of all time. Clarification: this is not a Dunkin' Donuts policy and is not guaranteed to work every time.

2. McDonald's at 11 p.m. for a McDouble and Coke.

It's become a bit of a ritual, some might call it a problem, that around 11 p.m. on any given night you can bet I'm craving a McDouble and Coke from McDonald's. I mean come on, it's less than $3 and it's delicious, so hate on me all you want but you're the one missing out, not me.

3. Hobbit.

I could go on for days about everything I love about Hobbit, but I'll spare you. The mini corn dogs and wings are my bread and butter. I mean come on mini corn dogs?? Incredible.

4. Gordos.

What's not to love about Gordos? It's the prized possession of Tally. The environment, the cubans, the fries, the Gordos sauce, and of course, the Gordos Smash. Nothing says college like a giant plastic cup filled to the brim with a pink colored liquid hangover.

5. Whataburger Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit.

If you try and tell me you haven't had a Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit after a night out, you're lying. These little drops of heaven are honestly what I look forward to most when going out.

6. Chick Fil A.

I'm pretty sure I've spent more money at Chick Fil A in the past 3 and a half years than on all the money spent on my college education. And let me tell you, it has been my pleasure.

7. Bagel Bagel.

There's nothing better than waking up on a Saturday morning after a night out at Recess and going to Bagel Bagel to bring you back to life.

8. El Patron.

You might risk being shot, but it's worth it for the BOGO margs and chips and salsa.

9. Madison Social Sweet Potato Kale Salad.

Yeah that's right. #health #fitness

10. Donut Kingdom.

When you're not feeling like eating kale or working out, you should just go ahead and make your way over to Donut Kingdom. You can thank me later.

11. Momo's Pizza.

If you don't love eating a slice of pizza that's literally bigger than your head, you're wrong.

12. Jasmine Cafe Sushi.

Jasmine is all about ballin' on a budget. They are the home of 2 rolls of sushi, soup, and salad all for $10 AND (drum roll please) $1 sake bombs.

13. Bird's Aphrodisiac Oyster Shack

Oysters, amazing burgers, and on Wednesday nights they have comedy night. If you haven't been to Bird's you need to get your butt in the car right now.

14. Bella Bella.

I swear their Bubble Bread was literally made by the angels in Heaven.

15. Gumby's Pokey Sticks.

There's nothing like a box of Pokey's after a wild night at Yianni's am I right?

16. Lucky Goat Coffee.

I love everything about Lucky Goat. The coffee is great, the environment is cozy and calm, they have cool shirts and hats. What else could you want from a coffee shop?

17. Hopkins.

Hopkins is a little Tallahassee local place with the best sandwiches ever. Not many people know about it, but I would 10/10 recommend trying it out if you haven't already.

18. Tin Lizzy's.

Tin Lizzy's is the move post happy hour/pre Recess. It's got amazing tacos, queso, and margaritas.

19. Brick Haus Pizza.

The pizza's good. The wine is cheap. What more do you need?

20. Charlie's Corn Dog Stand.

Charlie's corn dogs are pretty much the only reason I ever go to Standard, because I know that's what I have to look forward to at the end of the night.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
