College has some wonderful experiences among all the studying, classes, and grades. Although college is not all about the studying, sometimes college is about the moments you experience. And many of them can be demonstrated by the well known duo, Patrick and Spongebob.

1. There will be moments of fun with friends.

Whether it be one friend or a group of friends, memories will be made no matter what. And sometimes, that’s actually the most important part of college. Having fun and making memories that you can hold onto for a lifetime. Although, also, please don’t forget about the work and the grades.

2. Sometimes, college is actually where you meet your best friend.

You might have more than one best friend, and that’s okay. But I’ve always heard the friends you meet in college are your lifelong friendships. And the idea of that makes me so excited to see who else I meet this year!

3. If you get an A on the test you’ve been studying for weeks for, or the guy you have been wanting to talk to you finally does, or when something good happens, you always have someone supporting you, excited for you, and willing to sometimes just break out in dance.

4. And it’s more fun when you have someone to go on your food run study breaks with, no matter what time.

I definitely have discovered these friends, and sometimes, the best conversations we have is over the drive there or the actual food itself.

5. You will always have someone around you that can give you decent advice about the project you have to work on.

They might be able to give you some pointers about the paper or presentation you have.

6. And even when you have an argument or are fighting with someone.

Often, you realize that there truly are worse things going on. And often, those friendships will be brought back together. And that even though you might have been fighting, those feelings haven’t gone anywhere. You still care for each other.

7. But whatever you do, don’t forget that even though college is a time of opportunities and experiences.

Don’t forget about your grades and homework too.

8. Sometimes, caffeine is necessary for survival!

I mean it. Coffee and tea help me relax. They help me calm down and focus when I need to. But at least you don’t see me taking a coffee bath!

9. And it’s OK to cry.

I understand, college can be one of the most stressful times in our lives. But, it’s also important to realize that things will get easier. So, don’t be afraid. But go ahead and cry if you need to. It won’t make you any weaker.

10. And sometimes, you find the people that will be rooting for you no matter what in college.

I’ve driven miles to see my friend's band play (Champagne Campaign! Please look them up!) And he has driven miles to see my play performed. No matter what, it is often college is where you find the people rooting for you. And nothing feels better being there for someone else and having them do the same for you!

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
