With college campuses reopening as coronavirus cases rise, the national spotlight has been placed on college controversies. Which campus will close first? Who will get involved in a lawsuit? Where has social distancing been maintained and where has it been betrayed?

If you want an unconventional way to keep up with the ever-changing college covid news, Rider University Senior Alexis Vigario (@alexisvigario8 on TikTok) has got you covered with her viral bingo board.

"I've personally been very frustrated with the way I've seen universities handle the pandemic, especially [with]] the lack of regard for the safety of students and staff," Vigario said. "It seemed so obvious to me all of the things that would go wrong if schools chose to reopen, and the bingo board seemed like an interesting way to list out all of the potential issues across colleges of all sizes from different areas of the country"

She debuted the board this past Saturday, and has amassed millions of views on TikTok since the first video in this series highlighting UNC for their "Outbreak in less than 30 days," and NYU for their "Food/Water Crisis".

The boxes on the board provide scenarios that Vigario "thought would be inevitable if schools chose to reopen during the pandemic." Some notable ones include: "Increased Dropout Rate," "Outbreak caused by athletic programs," and "campus wide quarantine"

As these scenarios happen in live time, she fills in the box with the corresponding school's logo; so far UNC, NYU, Notre Dame, UGA, Alabama, Colorado State and Penn State (yes, for the infamous #twerkcircle in East Halls) have been used as bingo pieces. "Right now, it seems like filling the board will actually be a lot easier than I thought," Vigario said.

Vigario has already filled out five schools across, constituting a bingo. When the board fills up completely, she plans on "using the information [she has] received from students to make more videos regarding college responses to COVID-19."

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
