When you are returning to school from Thanksgiving, you feel like there's no time before you are home again for Winter Break. However, these few (or more) weeks are packed full of activities. Here are some things to look forward to (and dread) before you get to go home and decorate your tree.
1. Finals.
That dreaded word that is inevitably on everyone's mind before Christmas. Whether you have five finals or just one, it is a stressful time for everyone that involves lot of late nights at the library and unhealthy amounts of caffeine.
2. Formal season.
Whether you are a part of greek life, a sports team, or just know someone that is, there are lots of formals between Thanksgiving and Christmas. This is one good thing to look forward too (as long as you can also get your studying done).
3. The beginning-of-winter-sickness.
I've noticed that at this time of year, everyone in class and in the halls seems to be coughing. The change of seasons always brings out the worst for our immune systems.
4. Christmas decorations.
It's the time of year where your campus looks the prettiest. From snowflake lights to tree lightnings to horse-draw carriage rides, every college campus likes to get in the holiday spirit.
5. Saying bye to friends.
Winter break is a long month spent away from your college friends that you spend 24/7 with. Also, if you or your friends are going abroad next semester, it is a very long and hard goodbye. Get some good quality time in with your friends before you have to say goodbye for a whole month.
