Clear your schedule, steal the TV remote, and make some popcorn because college hoops is officially back.

It has been a long wait, but the most exciting time in basketball has started up once again.

With the first couple of games already over, the CBB AP Top 10 poll has been released.

According to Sportscenter, the Top 10 looks a little something like this:

1. Duke

2. Kentucky

3. Villanova

4. Oregon

5. UNC

6. Indiana

7. Kansas

8. Virginia

9. Wisconsin

10. Arizona

Who will you root for this season?

Will it be the top ranked Blue Devils from Durham, North Carolina? Or will it be their rivals, the Tar Heels from Chapel Hill?

It is rumored that Coach K could potentially have the best offensive team in his 37 years of coaching at Duke. It goes without saying that the whole country is excited to watch Grayson Allen light it up once again. The 6’4”, 195lb Guard had an average of 21.6 PPG, a 46.6 field goal percentage per game, and a 41.7 three-point field goal percentage.

And then there’s Kentucky…

The All-Star team from Lexington, Kentucky finished last season 27-9, 13-5 in SEC play, and won the SEC regular season championship. Although Kentucky lost in the second round of the NCAA Tournament last year, they are not to be overlooked.

Head coach, John Calipari has recruited yet another outstanding freshmen class. The newly-added class includes three top-10 freshmen, and two top-10 forwards. Watch out Duke, Kentucky is coming for ya…

The reigning 2016 National Champions kicked off their season with a win against Lafayette on November 11th, a win against Canisius on the 13th, and a win against Michigan State on the 15th. Villanova dominated last season as they went 35-5, 16-2 in the Big East. Stories of a repeat ‘ship have already surfaced. What do you think? Will ‘Nova grab a back-to-back National Championship?

The countdown ‘til March Madness starts now.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
