As summer too quickly comes to an end, going back to school is just around the corner. Some of us are more than ready to get packed and go to school, while others of us are still trying to figure out what they need to get ready. Here is a little help trying to get your backpack back to school ready.

1. Planner

This is my number one go-to. I carry my planner around with me everywhere. It is in my backpack, it is in my purse. I'd suggest getting a durable one because it will come in handy. You can plug deadlines into your phone, but sometimes it is just better to have it down on paper.

2. Cell phone

Not that many people go without their cell phones. You never know when you are going to need to get a hold of someone.

3. Headphones

Whether you are trying to block out the noise to get work done or have some time for Netflix between classes, headphones are there to help you.

4. Chargers

You never know how long you might be out of your dorm. The last thing you want is for your phone or computer to die while you are out and about.

5. Laptop

Some professors will let you take notes on your computer. Always check to see what the policy with your professors is. If they don't let you, it is still good to have in case of free time to do work in between classes.

6. Keys

Making sure your keys are with you is important. You don't want to end up locked out of your room, especially if you can't get a hold of a roommate or RA.

7. Notebooks

You will need to take notes. You might think you will remember something, but that is not always the case. Not all professors will let you use your computer for notes, so you want to still be able to take them.

8. Pens, pencils and highlighters

If you are writing notes, you will need something to write with. Pens and pencils are a necessity. Highlighters are nice to keep sections separate in a notebook or to make important points stand out.

9. Small umbrella

There is just something about a college campus that seems to attract rain. Keeping a small umbrella in your bag will save you from getting soaked if you get stuck in a downpour.

10. Folder

While you are carrying everything else around, you don't want the papers you have in your backpack to get crumpled, torn and look messy before you go to turn them in. You will also be able to keep any other papers you get in one place.

10 Things Only Equestrians Understand

Yes, it IS a sport. Yes, I fall all the time. No, I do not ride in jeans with a cowgirl hat on.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.

Sometimes my brain just starts turning on an idea and it doesn't want to stop.
