I have recently rekindled my sense of exploration and fulfillment in nature. There is not that much that compares to the childlike love of nature that comes when being outside. Running through the woods, whether on or off the trails gives a thrill not everyone encounters as much as they should. There is a passion for exploration and adventure that creates a desire for the unknown and a childlike curiosity. That desire pushes and urges you to long for the outdoors even when the circumstances are not always in your favor. When it is mid-day January and raining but you decide to hike to waterfalls and climb up mountains. When the fog is so thick that it looks sick but hard to drive in. When you no longer fear the unexpected but long for surprises. When your one of your main interest is now when the next adventure begins.
If life is an adventure and you have your faith secure, why not explore this place that God created for us? The peace the outside can give you is remarkable when you allow it. The joy and happiness the thrill gives you is remarkable. The views and beauty God gives us is awe-inspiring.
To the friends who sparked my excitement for the world:
I may have known you all of my life or have just met all of you but I would not take anything back if I could. We may have even just met a week ago but it feels like months. You came into my life at a point where you were actually needed and I am tremendously thankful for everyone.
Sometimes doubt, worry, and anxiety can drag you down but with Christ and some amazing friends I have found that those things can often times be concurred. Friends who let you talk and talk till you think that you are annoying them on a hike up a mountain. Friends who listen to you when it is three in the morning and have been playing in the snow all day. Friends who truly care about you for who you are inside and out.
Life changes, things may hurt, and there may be unexpected changes in plans but all in all life will move on. I have discovered that is it better to move with life than to get stuck behind and be stressed trying to catch up.
The amounts of astounding places in this world to be explored are limitless. The mountains to be hiked, rivers to swim in, seas to be sailed, sunsets to be watched, trees to be climbed, upon many more things that are currently crossing your mind are just some of the amazing things that can be done with our innate adventurous spirit. We live in a world that moves at a pace where people feel like they do not have time to breathe but trust me you do and fresh air is good. Do not be like everyone else. Go against our societies norms for our lifestyles and take a trip. Take a trip for the books; one that will be remembered for a long time. Make a list of places you want to go and mark off that list one by one. Find your appreciation for the wonderful world we get to call our home. Love your life because life truly is good and being on an earth as wonderful or ours is a blessing. Take a walk with God, a hike with friends, a road trip with family, or any other adventure that you seek and who knows you may discover the wondrous works our God crafted our earth with in a new way you haven’t seen it before.
