Cold Weather Means Binge-Watching Everything

It's that time of the year: hot chocolate, movies, and cuddles!

Winter break is basically here and with all the free time, what better way to spend it than binge-watching every single movie and show possible. Here are some suggestions you might love!

"Chilling Adventures of Sabrina"

If you were as obsessed with "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" as I was as a child than this show will restart your obsession. It is a darker version of the original, but just as intriguing.

"Orange is the New Black"

If you haven't hopped on the "Orange is the New Black" train, isn't too late! The show will keep you on your toes so much that I think I even might have binged watched a little too quick!

"Disenchantment"

The perfect show to start of your break. Your brain is dead from finals week and this cartoon is precisely what you need: a little laughter and no thinking.

"Set it Up"

This may not be a television show, but the movie is yet another good, funny romance. Two interns struggling to gain time for themselves and their real lives end up wrapped up in their bosses love lives and eventually, their own.

"To All the Boys I've loved Before"

Yet another movie, but definitely a must see. When it first came out, ALL of my friends were watching it, so if you haven't seen it yet, I won't spill any details. Just try it out.

"The Kissing Booth"

The last movie, I promise, but this one is a little iffy for some. It is the utter definition of a classic romance movie. If all you need is a happy ending and a perfectly predictable movie... well, here you go.

"Big Mouth"

Yet another no-brainer! "Big Mouth" is also a cartoon with laughter and it doesn't require much brain power. If you pay attention to the details, you'll realize it is much wittier and clever than you ever realized.

"Stranger Things"

Three words: dangerous, creepy and thrilling. "Stranger Things" didn't catch my eye until someone forced me to sit down and watch it. If you get hooked, season 2 has even more twists and turns than the first season! Better yet, season 3 should be right around the corner and releasing with the new year so perfect timing for a binge-watching.

"13 Reasons Why"

Tragic and emotional is all I have to say. The mysterious, tragic love story for anyone and everyone.

 "Black Mirror"

The random, strange stories told through this show have caught the world's attention, but there are endless episodes, so start from the beginning and work your way through in order. Each episode acts as its own, completely irrelevant to the previous episodes. No need to watch them in order!

 "Ozark"

This one reminds me of "Breaking Bad!" If anyone loved that show, this might be for you. A money laundering father leads his family on a runaway after a deal goes wrong.

 "Safe"

A mysterious story with the main character, played by one of my favorites, Michael Hall, aka "Dexter". The story entails a missing daughter, a lost father, and a tragic secret from many years before. Better yet, it includes many other mysteries that I shouldn't tell you about. Do yourself a favor and go find out the answers to them!

Bucket List To Live In The Now

Find excitement in your life and start exploring wherever you are right here, right now.

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2023, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

If you go to or went to Kent State, then more than likely you have done or will do some of these things.

1. You’ve slipped and fallen on the ice at least once.

The winters at Kent are brutal, and while the heated sidewalks and some great snow boots are always a help, there’s no chance you won’t bust it on the ice at least once in your four plus years at school.
