As college students, we consume a lot of caffeine or energy from any source that we can. Those who do not put caffeine in their body will usually put a lot of sugar in their body instead. The reasons for trying to put artificial energy into the body changes with the person and the day for the most part. The real question is whether or not a person's drink order has anything to do with their personality. Some drinks are described as basic when really the drink is just popular with a certain group of people that also enjoy Ugg boots and leggings in the winter. Other drinks are seen as unusual or harsh to the taste buds, but whether or not the drink is actually pleasant or not depends on the person. Try to see if any of the descriptions of these drinks fits any of your friends.

1) Black Coffee

This is a person who is drinking coffee for just the caffeine, they know the dangers of caffeine but also understand its necessity. This person is usually very intelligent with a gentle demeanor and an extremely busy schedule with very little time for unnecessary drama in their life.

2) Chai Tea Latte

A person who really wants to like coffee, but has a bigger love for tea. Someone with a spicy and funky attitude who isn't afraid to speak up when the situation calls for it. This is a person who is willing to step out of their comfort zone, but also has a hard time getting over old habits.

3) Macchiato

The drink of an artist, any artsy friends will usually have a sweet and bold drink in their hand while coming up with their latest masterpiece. A person who shows their creativity through every aspect of their life through their possessions and choice in clothing. Someone who could be found in a coffee shop writing poetry or spending long hours in a studio.

4) Latte

Say hello to the baby workaholic, someone who is constantly trying to better themselves and prove a point. Running with coffee in their hands becomes as easy as walking and talking to this person. Have a friend who can walk, text, and drink coffee? Someone who likes things sweet but is obsessed with the coffee flavor, enjoys the little things but has big dreams.

5) Mocha

Got a fun friend, the one who wants everything to be happy and have a good time? This is them, not to say this person can't be serious. Getting into a fight with this person is never a good idea, it leads to more trouble than anything else. A person who loves to have a good time, but can win any argument or is good at convincing everyone they are right.

6) Iced Coffee

Summer lovers, these are the people that hate learning in a classroom, but are still very intelligent. They are the people always ready for a new adventure, whether it is getting up to get coffee or going on a day long hike up a random mountain, they are always game.

7) Frappuccino

For the people who say they like coffee but really are just there for the fancy drinks that have more whip cream than espresso in the drink. This is the energetic friend who doesn't need caffeine or sugar but likes the idea of them, the dancer or singer of the group. Or the person who is independent in their personality, but would rather rely on others for their needs in life.

8) Espresso

The caffeine addict, the person who is willing to go to the extreme. The friend who works hard to play hard: they enjoy parties but during the week there nose is usually in a book or they are cramming notes onto a page. The friend who parties a little too hard on the weekends and is up the next morning with sunglasses and an espresso in hand.

9) Cappuccino

Tradition goes with this person like peanut butter and jelly. A person who wants to have everything that is a part of the American dream. With the goal of having a chronological life that does not include disturbance, the perfectionist with a plan. College, job, marriage, house with picket fence, and then having successful children is all apart of the plan; this person comes across as gentle but isn't afraid to be aggressive.

10) Hot Tea

The outsider or random friend that everyone enjoys in small amounts. A friend that always means well but can come across as clingy and has the traits of a hermit. This is also the friend who will drop everything and jump out of their comfort zone to help out a friend in need. The person who wants to be better and is willing to step out of their usual schedule to make someone smile.

11) Hot Chocolate

The attention grabber, the person who wants to look like they enjoy coffee or tea, but are too sweet and innocent for it. This is the person who doesn't really know what is going on most of the time, and is more than a little naive. Have any friends who need an adult or someone to act like an adult for them most of time or a friend who can't take responsibilities for their actions?

12) Brew your own coffee at home

The friend who sees through everyone, the one who doesn't want to put up with anyone's petty drama. This is the wise friend who at least looks like they have their life together, the friend who is definitely going somewhere. When it comes to college they are ready for anything, but more than anything it is time for them to get into the work force and start their life.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
