For centuries, coffee has been at the center of cultural interactions. The emergence of coffee has sat in the middle of many conversations at home and in public spaces. During the 19th-century, throughout Europe coffee shops became centers of intellectual conversations, gatherings, and interactions. Coffee has not only left its mark in European culture but in the Near East, coffee houses, like Europe, were and are centers of social activities for everyone.
In short, coffee has touched and influenced many cultures including American Culture.
For others, coffee has become something more. For me, coffee has not only gotten me through undergraduate, graduate, and continues to get me through work but it has become something that is intrinsically part of me. I enjoy drinking coffee whether it is in the morning, afternoon, or at night. Many would say that I am a coffee addict.
To all of the other coffee addicts out there, like myself, here are four reasons to drink more coffee!
1. Health benefits
According to UCLA researchers, coffee is good for one's health. The UCLA researchers state that coffee may reduce the chances of getting Type 2 Diabetes. Coffee is also linked to reducing the risk of getting Parkinson's’ disease, Uterine and liver cancer, cirrhosis, and gout.
2. Energy levels increase
Drinking coffee increases one’s energy levels which in return makes one more productive and more focused at work.
3. Coffee aroma
In 2008, Researchers at Seoul National University claim that the aroma may make one less stress.
4. Coffee makes one happy
