I have been a big fan of Kelly for many years. She doesn’t know my name, but I like to think we would be on a first name basis if she did. Several years ago I found myself watching Live with Kelly and Micheal every morning. I noticed how I would be up with my three little ones, getting breakfast and watching PBS kids with them all the while watching the clock for 9 a.m. so I could sneak off to my bedroom with a hot cup of coffee and laugh for a while.
I started to hear her talk about how much she worked out and how it gave her a clear head. How when she didn't work out she felt foggy and noticeably grumpy. I realized I am always noticeably grumpy and my thoughts had been in a fog for years. So I looked up her workout routine on Google. I thought if it benefits her it could help me too.
So here is what I would say to Kelly if we ever got to sit and have coffee:
1. Your laughter heals my broken heart on mornings when I don't want to get out of bed.
2. Thank you for helping me make a choice to get off the couch and make healthy changes.
3. You were right, I do feel better when I workout and my focus is never clearer.
4. The way you talk about your husband, and the look on your face when you do spreads so much love. It always reminds me that I am so lucky to have a husband that I love and who loves me back in the same passionate way.
5. Thank you for being real about age and the body and how even when you are fit there is always something you would change if you could. Your honesty on your thoughts about yourself is refreshing.
6. I laugh every time you say you look like a boy because I highly doubt anyone else thinks this of you.
7. Your confidence is inspiring.
8. The most important thing I would hope to express while sipping coffee casually is my gratitude for your joy.
When life is hard, and things seem dark, I remember how hard you work for the beautiful life you have, and I find myself working harder to reach my goals.
Thank you, Kelly, for sharing your joy with me every morning.
I would like to take a moment more to encourage you, my readers, to find joy and inspiration in the people around you.
