As you probably have heard, there have been plenty of clown sightings across the United States now. Starting about a month ago, both children and adults have been reporting cases of seeing "clowns" in certain areas. I already thought this was creepy when I first heard about clown-sightings down south, but when I recently found out about the sightings in New York, I just about had enough. As someone who had to turn off the T.V. nearly five minutes into Stephen King's 'It', this is the last piece of news I want to hear.
What baffles me is the fact that now 28 states have gotten reports of clown sightings--28 states. That's the part that I can't seem to understand. I get it if it's one state where a few teenagers are trying to play pranks and scare people just in time for Halloween, but now half of our country is in on it? It just doesn't make sense to me. Who are these 'clowns'? I can't see it being the same two or three clowns just traveling state to state...so what is it? Do they know each other? Is this some type of 'cult'? Or is everyone just jumping on the clown band-wagon? Whatever the case, I want no part of it. You can read the list of the 28 states and the details of each report here on Heavy.
If you watch the video below in regards to the recent sightings in Upstate New York, you can see I'm not the only one who's upset with these clowns. 'Punkin' the Clown (one of Buffalo's top clown entertainers for children) isn't happy with the other clowns. Children have been asking if she has any association with what is going on. She said "a real clown will never ever ever try to scare the kids". While some reports only mention clowns standing and staring at people, others mention cases in which the clowns try to scare kids or attempt to lure them into the woods. I hope if this is a harmless prank that it doesn't go too far. I'm sure police won't hold back when it comes down to it. For the sake of anybody getting hurt, I just hope we stop hearing about these sightings sooner rather than later.
