They're Everywhere!

Recently an unusual phenomenon has surged over the entire country and it all revolves around clowns. If you are unaware of these newly recognized happenings, here's what the craze is all about. The first sighting happened in Grenville, South Carolina when two clowns were said to be trying to lure a young boy into the woods near his apartment complex. The two clowns were said to be wearing brightly colored clothes while one had on a red wig and the other a giant star painted on his face.

Since then there have been multiple reports of clown sightings ranging all across the nation varying in degrees of seriousness and realness. Some are said to be a joke, hoax, or prank, but there have been serious claims from people who felt they were in danger when approached by these clowns.

In some states the threats seem to be less aggressive than in others, such as in Pennsylvania or New York. There have only been claims saying clowns have been just roaming the streets scaring people or cars. Meanwhile there have been actual reports of violent threats being made. For example, in Houston, Texas a clown account on Facebook said they would be traveling around to high schools in that area and would "kidnap students or kill teachers on their way to their cars."

No matter the severity, all threats have been taken seriously by all law enforcement officers in all states. Many suspects or pranksters have been arrested on various accounts and some have even been brought to Homeland Security.

People in some states have taken it upon themselves to go out and find the clowns, but this has been advised against by law enforcement, urging the public to only report any suspicious activity to them directly.

These recent clown scares have not only upset the general public, but also former clown workers themselves. Many people who dress up in that attire for a job are upset about the negative light these situations brings to their community. They have even gone as far as to make a Clown Lives Matter group that has gained popularity across the nation.

These situations have been a good reminder to always make sure you are safe and put in a good situation, such as being with a group or in a well populated area. With Halloween approaching it is important to take these precautions in order to avoid any scares and to make sure you have a safe and fun holiday.
