10 Fashion Essentials You Need In Your Closet For Summer

In This Article:

*Sigh* Summer. School is out, the sun is shining, and fashion trends are peaking. Summer is known to be one of the most fun and vibrant seasons when it comes to fashion and it's clear why. Summer fashion is all about prints, being comfortable and simple. But Let's be real, staying on trend over summer can seem like an expensive or difficult goal, but really all you need are about 10 pieces and essentials that can turn any outfit into an instant summer classic.

1. Floral Prints? Yes please!

The first is a staple that can be seen year round but stands on its own during the summer months. Femme Fabulous and vibrant and simple floral prints on flowy shorts, shirts, scarves, dresses or even simple detailing on pants give instant endless summer vibes.

2. Nautical Stripes

Ahoy There! Nautical stripes are so far my personal favorite trend of the summer. Any piece or accessory that contains these "naughty" (LOL I really tried) stripes (especially in a muted navy blue) has the ability to transform your summer fit from sad and sandy to yacht party in the Hamptons.

3. Vibrant rompers

Rompers have obviously been around for a while now, but never have they been such a strong statement in full force. Although annoying when you need to use the bathroom, rompers give a confident look, especially for complimenting the curvier girls out there.

4. A good retro one piece

If there's one thing that's true about fashion it's that a lot of styles end up repeating themselves in the same way history tends to. And this summer is all about retro styles, everything from polka dots, gingham, 80s style one pieces and 50s/60s inspired pieces as well. Get a good retro one-piece and you are sure to be turning heads on the beach this summer

5. Classic slip-ons

A good pair of classic slip-ons can be anything from simple white Vans or Adidas, to a pair of classic sandals that can go with any outfit.

6. A fun jumpsuit

Just like rompers, jumpsuits are making a huge comeback and don't look like they'll be going anywhere soon. So break out your best airy jumpsuits and rock the laid back yet put together summer look!

7. Statement earrings! Lets turn some heads, people!

Statement earrings are one of the best staples to have in your wardrobe this summer. From tassels to hoops and dangly earrings, these small statement pieces have the ability to dress up the most casual outfit and bring all the attention to both your beautiful face and killer outfit!

8. Classic white tee

This is kind of an obvious one, but everyone loves a plain white tee. It's a classic basic that has the potential to create multiple fresh and stunning summer looks.

9. Everyone needs some good blue denim

You can never go wrong with throwing a solid blue denim into your summer look, I for one, know that any summer outfit can be completed with anything from a denim jacket or a cool blue jean.

10. Anything with a classic summer yellow

Yellow is in this summer and it's all things funky and fun. This iconic happy and breezy color will keep you glowing as bright as the sun. But let's be real, who wouldn't want to walk around putting smiles on peoples faces with a precious pop of yellow?

8 Things I Realized After My First Semester In College

Actually, Kylie Jenner, 2018 is the year of realizing things.

The first semester of college is famous for being one of the most difficult transitions of one's young adult life. You're thrown into a completely new area where the majority of the people surrounding you are strangers in an academic environment that's much more challenging then what you've grown accustomed to for the past twelve years. On top of that, you probably share a room with another person (or even multiple people) on the lumpiest "mattress" you've ever slept on.

With this change comes a lot of questions: what do I want to major in? What am I passionate about? Is what I'm passionate about something I'm actually good at? Why does the bathroom smell like cranberry juice and vodka? What is that thing at the bottom of the shower drain?

6 Unrealistic Expectations Society Has For Young Adults

Don't let the thesaurus-inspired vocabularies in our résumés fool you. We're actually just big kids.

Well over four feet tall and 100 pounds in weight, many of us "young adults" of the world still consider ourselves children. Big, working, college-attending, beer-drinking children. We may live on our own, know how to cook noodles, and occasionally use a planner, but don't be fooled; the youthful tendencies that reside within us still make their way into our daily lives. From choosing to stay up until 3:00 a.m. playing video games on a school night to going out in 30 degree weather without a coat, we still make decisions that our parents and grandparents would shake their heads at in disappointment. So why are we expected to know exactly how to be a wise, professional, sensible adult? It's not that we're irresponsible (for the most part, anyway). It's that we are young, inexperienced, and still have the sought-after, enthusiastic mentality that we can do and be whatever we want, which has not yet been tarnished by the reality of the world. These are just a few of the unrealistic expectations that society has for young adults.
