It’s spring, but it’s still snowing! Spring is one of my favorite seasons. I feed off of the positive energy emitted from the sun's brilliant rays. I ended up at Elon University after high school because I knew I had to settle in a location where I could feel radiant and content, away from the restraints of downbeat weather that hold you down up north.

So, I have one question for North Carolina right now: WHAT ARE THESE CONDITIONS?! While I love layering puffy jackets and thick blanket scarves on colder days, I'm also enthusiastic to wear loose, flowy dresses on a warm spring day. How can I incorporate my spring aesthetic into a warmer wardrobe? Here are some ways you can enjoy the style of spring while staying warm in the snow.

1. Reds

Red, a color I’ve always stayed away from, has recently caught my eye. Not only do I see this color as fierce in the spring and summer, it's also a color I have incorporated into my wardrobe with a hoodie not too long ago.

I tend to think of red as a timeless color to paint your nails with on a night out, or a sexy color to line your lips with. Never did I think that I would be wearing it in bold large clothing items, but I love the look of it. Spice up your transition clothes with a pop of red.

2. Whites

White is a color I wear year-round. I love the crispness of the color, and I think it makes an outfit effortless. In the sunny months, however, white looks even better with the light reflecting off of it.

White simply translates as a positive color. It is connected with connotations of illumination, softness, and goodness. I love these picks because they have feminine designs with ruffles while they still keep your arms warm.

3. Pastels

How can one think about spring and not envision pastel colors on flowers, clothes and Easter eggs? Pastels are coordinated with the spring season because they are described as soothing and soft. However, you can still wear pastels and stay warm.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
