The Benefits Of Being Close To Your Cousins

My cousins and I are extremely close. I would consider them to be my brothers and sisters. Having a close relationship with your family is very beneficial in life. I know that my cousins would be there for me through anything, without judgment, and they will always have my back. I am so thankful to have them in my family as well as being my best friends.

I honestly feel bad for families who aren't close like ours, because it is such an amazing feeling. I have a lot of family members, I have very many cousins. We all vary in ages ranging from teen's to thirties, and now some of them have their own babies. My family has a tradition of being together every single Christmas, and this last one was a big realization for all of us. As we've gotten older, our families relationships have gotten stronger.

All of us cousins realized that as we get older, our aunts, uncles, and grandparents do as well. We made a promise to each other that we would continue our family tradition of getting together in order to keep our close bonds and for our own kids one day. I can't even put into words how amazing that feeling is.

Knowing that no matter what happens in life, I will have my cousins there for me. We talk to each other every single day and we all love each other unconditionally. As our family continues to grow, I am also very thankful for each addition that has been added to our family. We truly have it made.

The saying of never giving up on family is so beyond true because if we gave up, we wouldn't have what we have now. I know that I will always need my cousins and I hope they feel the same about me and the rest of us. Thank you guys, for constantly being there for me, that includes girlfriends, wives, husbands etc.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
