My Family Is SO Important To Me, And Here's Why

We are all each other's best friends, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Anyone who knows me knows that I am nothing short of obsessed with my family. We have a family group chat that we are constantly texting in, I am always on the phone with one of my siblings or parents, and I am always willing to drop everything to talk to or help one of them.

My family has quite literally been described to me as a "one-of-a-kind" family. We have my parents, my two sisters, and my younger brother, and we have a dynamic, unlike any family I have ever seen before. We may fight, annoy each other, and want to kill each other at times, but at the end of the day, we truly are each other's best friends.

Ever since I can remember, my parents have instilled in all of us the importance of family and spending time with one another. They would make us go to movies together, have game nights, and have dinner around the table together every night, which is almost unheard of now.

At the time, I hated doing some of these activities with my family because I was nervous some of my friends would think I was lame. But, as we all started leaving to go to college and moving on with our lives, I began to really miss our random nights doing nothing but laughing with (and at) each other.

The older and more mature I get, the more I look back on these memories with the rosiest-colored glasses in the world. I would not trade any of our times together or any of our weird traditions for anything. Including the tradition where my parents still buy all of us matching pajama sets at the end of every year and make us take a picture by the fire.

The true foundation of my "one of a kind" family is the love my parents share for one another, and in turn, for all of us kids. My parents are the definition of the love everyone strives to find, and I am so lucky that I had their guidance in my life. I know what I am looking for in my future love and my future family, and I know I am good enough to never settle for anything less.

My older sister is my role model, my younger sister is my best friend, and my younger brother is my favorite TikTok sensation to ever hit the internet. My parents are some of the most selfless, hilarious and genuine people I have met. I am not really sure how I got this lucky, but I am so happy that I did, and I miss all of them every single day.

No matter how old you are, be sure to cherish all of the time you are spending with your family because you never know when it could stop. Just cherish every minute, even when your mom forces you all to take a picture next to Santa Clause every year when you're clearly over the age limit.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
