Unlike most people, I spent my spring break on campus. I was trying to enjoy the simple, quiet life; that is, until the second to last day of break.
I am on the women's rugby team, and we spend a fair amount of time together. During the week, a few of us hung out, but it was very low key. Our social gatherings, however, vary from super chill to wild and crazy. We are a very daring group, after all. We play rugby, so you should definitely question our sanity to some extent. Anyway, this past Saturday, we had a "Fam Fun Day," because all we really are is one big family. We even have a team mom and a team dad. We are a very hardcore family.
So, after partying together, a select group of us decided that we wanted to climb the Van Leer building. The Van Leer building, for those of you who do not know, is located close to the CULC. The building itself is named the "Blake R. Van Leer Building for Electrical and Computer Engineering" and it has a very unique design. Along a part of it is a sort of honeycomb like structure, which we used to climb to the rooftop. It was quite the experience. For one, there is this huge satellite right in the middle of it. I almost felt as if I was in outer space. Although the sun had set hours ago, there was still this pinkish tint in the sky, and it was beautiful. I could see the CULC rooftop across the distance as well as an entirely different view of the skyline.
See, I have been on the CULC rooftop dozens of times, but something about the Van Leer rooftop was different. Maybe it was special to me because no one knew about it, but I highly doubt that, since I'm sharing it with you all. Maybe I was just having the time of my life with a few people I hold most dear to me. Either way, I felt like I was on top of the world.
