The city of Clifton is a neighborhood of Cincinnati with many great things for UC students to do besides study. Whether you like to go out to eat or party downtown, the city of Clifton is a great place for students to live.
1. The Food
For those of you who don't know me, I love eating out. Clifton is home to dozens of restaurants that everyone will love. If for some reason you are unable to find something that tickles your fancy, check out Over-the-Rhine or Finley Market.
2. Housing
While freshman are not required to live on campus, many do however because it gives them a chance to meet more people and make friends. If you aren't one of the lucky students who is able to live in the new dorms then you probably will not want to return to UC's dorms for your sophomore year. Fortunately, there are a number of spectacular off campus apartments and houses in Clifton that are only a five to ten minute walk to campus.
3. Stores
Clifton is also home to a number of great stores not far from campus. Stores like Walgreen's, Gamestop and DuBois. Kroger and Target will be joining the mix in Fall 2017. There is even an Amazon drop-off location that many UC students use every day.
4. Bar Life
For those of you of legal age, Clifton is home to a number of popular bars that UC students can't get enough of.
5. Parks
Just because you are in the city, doesn't mean that you can't enjoy a little peace and quite. Places like Burnet Woods, Eden Park, and Bellevue Park give you an excellent place to relax when the weather is just right.
6. Downtown Cincinnati
If you can't find something you like in Clifton, take a ten minute Uber ride downtown for a whole new experience. There's the Cincinnati Zoo, Art Museum, Bengals/Reds games and of course many more places to eat.
Overall, Clifton is a great college town with more and more attractions being added every year. I am happy to call it my home.
