When I was little, I would literally ask grown-ups if they had washed their hands. I'm 20, and although that would look frowned upon, sometimes I still want to ask. I'm probably not the most senile when it comes to things being clean, but I have my moments. I actually think it's getting worse as I get older (which I don't think is a terrible thing).
Here are a couple comments that might drive clean freaks a little nutty.
1. Didn't you just wash your hands?
Why, yes I did. Then I touched something else.
2. Didn't you clean that yesterday?
Congratulations, you noticed. There was another spot on it, so it's getting cleaned again.
3. Does that have to be cleaned RIGHT now?
Yes.
4. I'm so sorry I'm messy, I know you're like super clean.
That's quite alright. I truly realize the difference in cleaning styles.
5. When do you have time to clean?
That's like asking when we have time to eat. Always.
6. Why are you cleaning your cleaning supplies?
It also gets dirty?
7. I could eat off your floor.
I advise against it, but it's really up to you.
