Christmas time is finally here and it is time to spread the holiday cheer. As the years go by, we may struggle to continue to spread the joy of Christmas to our friends and family, but we shouldn't fear! When it comes to celebrating Christmas, there is one man that does it better than the rest of the people out there.

For our purposes, it is not Buddy the Elf, not George Bailey, and definitely not the Grinch who we will be looking to for help. Our holiday angel this year (and every year) is Clark W. Griswold Jr.

Yes, the character made famous by National Lampoon and Chevy Chase is the one we should look to when we need inspiration for the Christmas season. A family man that goes the extra mile for making this time of year special, he is the perfect example for how Christmas should be spent. For example:

Something as simple as getting a tree becomes a family event.

Little full, lot of sap.

He provides comebacks to those that are not in the Christmas Spirit.

If you have wonderful neighbors, like Todd and Margo, Clark will set you for life with his witty comebacks to get those Scrooges.

He brings together both sides of the family, regardless of their peculiarities.

He welcomes all... even people like cousin Eddie.

A national treasure, every family has their own cousin Eddie.

His home is even open to God’s furry creatures.

He takes his hard-earned Christmas Bonus and spends it on his family, not just himself.

It's the gift that keeps on giving, all year long.

He enjoys your refreshing and festive cup of eggnog.

He keeps up with tradition, such as a good old fashioned turkey dinner.

It may be a little dry and you may find a heart in there, but it's still good.

He takes time to remember Christmas' past, in proper Christmas attire, of course.

Teal and pink are the perfect festive colors when you're stuck in a dingy attic.

He does all he can so the kids still believe in "Santie Claus."

He takes decorating very seriously.

And his decorating brightens up the entire neighborhood's spirit.

It also may cause a city-wide power outage, but that's what backup generators are for anyway.

Even his wife is spirited about the holidays.

#LifeQuote

He is kind and courteous to everyone, wishing them all a Merry Christmas.

He knows all the secrets of going sledding.

Bingo.

And he always finds a way to fix everything.

Investing in a chainsaw may or may not be a wise decision to make this Christmas.

So, this holiday season, if you find yourself struggling to spread joy and carry on with the Christmas spirit, look to our good old friend Clark Griswold, a true Christmas icon for us all.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
