After another stressful year of school, summer is the time to relax and have fun. But with work and internships, it can sometimes be hard to relax or find the time and money to go on a vacation. The truth is that you do not need to go far away from Cincinnati in order to have a great summer vacation. This city has a lot to offer so you never run out of new adventures. Here are just a few of some of the great things you can do in Cincy this summer.

1. Shop at City Flea in Washington Park

Once a month during the summer and fall, City Flea is put on in Washington Park. There are great food trucks for a delicious lunch and an abundance of vendors selling a variety of products. It's a great place to shop for something unique!

2.Visit the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden

As the second oldest zoo in the United States, the Cincinnati zoo is a great place to visit for people of all ages.

3. Salsa on the Square

Every Thursday night enjoy free salsa dancing downtown on fountain square.

4. Have a picnic in Ault Park

The fourth largest park in Cincinnati is beautiful and the perfect place for your next picnic.

5. Go to the Loveland Bike Trail

The Loveland bike trail follows along an old railroad line and is a great option to get outside in the summer and get some exercise.

6.Visit Kings Island

With rides and attractions for all ages everyone is sure to enjoy themselves at Kings Island.

7. Go to a Red's Game

Show your hometown pride by cheering on the Red's at Great American Ball Park.

8. Go to the top of Carew Tower

For the best view of the city, visit the observation deck at the 49-story Carew Tower.

9. Have brunch at The Echo Restaurant in Hyde Park

Great for breakfast, brunch or lunch, this diner has been around since 1945 and will sure to satisfy your taste buds.

10. See a Concert at Riverbend Music Center

Riverbend is a great place to enjoy the summer weather while seeing a concert. With lawn tickets available it won't break the bank.

11. Visit the Cincinnati Art Museum

General admission is free so there is nothing stopping you from going to appreciate art you cannot see anywhere else.

12. Eat at Montgomery Inn

You can only get barbecue like this in Cincinnati. I would also recommend treating yourself to some Graeters after dinner for a true Cincinnati experience.

Cincinnati is a city that truly has a lot to offer. These are just a few suggestions to start your summer off right, but keep exploring the 513 even more!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
