What Is Love

Love (noun): an intense feeling of deep affection.

"Babies fill parents with intense feelings of love."

Synonyms include: deep affection, fondness, tenderness, warmth, intimacy, attachment, endearment.

Do me a favor. Hush your mouth and open your mind.

So, this is my opinion…

Love is being able to show someone every side of yourself.

The tears, the smiles, all of it. Being so right-on with someone that you “literally cannot even!” Being with your best friend. Being with your soulmate. Being with that one person who can get you back up on your feet after you've been knocked down, time and time again.

Have you ever tried to imagine how your life would have been the past year without that special someone? My goodness…

Love is magical and beautiful. It makes this world seem like a less scary place to be in. It makes every struggle you’ve ever been through (so far) worth it. You don’t ever feel like you need to give up.

You feel that?

That’s strength. That’s motivation. That’s the one person. It’s one person that you love the most in this whole entire world. The one you find yourself staring into space about. The times you’ve shared. Strangers notice you reminiscing about fun times through the smile that spreads across your blushing cheeks. Tears of melancholy memories drip into your lap.

**Whips out mirror to make sure mascara isn’t running.** Slay!

If you think support is important, then keep reading.

Through thick and thin, you and your true love will conquer all. You are a team. You know you'll always have that hand to hold, those lips to kiss and that shoulder to cry on.

There’s a feeling I get when I’m shy to say something. My heart starts pumping, adrenaline rushing and the next thing I know, I’ve gotten the courage to speak my thoughts. That, is trust.

You don’t have to wonder. You don’t have to worry. You don’t have to question. You just know, you can trust them.

Letting them choose where to eat. If I say, “I don’t care,” then it doesn’t mean I don’t care. It means I’d like you to list anywhere you’d go. Slowly, so I can see if it sounds good to me too.

Eating the food and doing the activities you know will make them happy, which ultimately makes you happy, too!

Falling asleep and waking up together. Calling it home. The constant, "I miss you," feeling even though you've only been apart for an hour or so.

These are amongst the many things I've been so lucky to experience at such a young age. Our paths crossed and I could not be any happier.

Thank you.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter
morethanwheels

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
