The one word that describes my grandma: funny. Living in the same town as my grandma has given me so many opportunities to just hang out with her, which means there is almost always a new story to share. She has a unique personality that you probably won't find in anybody else in this world and would be described as one of a kind. There are a handful of stories with her that are top-notch funny, and I can't help but share them with everyone.
Needless to say, our family Christmases are always a blast! There was one year, however, that is very memorable for one reason. My grandma had purchased the movie "Elf" on DVD for all of us to watch. It was my parents, my uncle, my grandma and me there. My grandma wasn't sure how to work the DVD player, so she had asked my mom and me to try and get it up and running while she went and prepared the d'oeuvres.
That's when my mom and I got an idea: we change the language on the DVD to Spanish and tell my grandma that she had bought a Spanish DVD. So we change the language, press play, and get my grandma in the room. That's when we proceeded to tell her what the deal was. Her face of pure confusion and astonishment was absolutely priceless. She said everything from "You have got to be kidding me!", "But the box is English?!", "This is ridiculous.", along with many threats to take it back and complain. At the time I was in elementary school, and I just couldn't hold in the laughter anymore, and I just let it all out. That's when we had to let her in on the prank, she laughed at it like all the rest of us did.
It's something we remember every Christmas. Thanks, Grandma!
