Christmas is upon us! It's time for family gatherings, opening gifts and eating too many Christmas cookies. Besides the usual excitement that the holiday brings, having special family traditions makes this time of year even better. They bring your family together with something special just for all of you. Christmas wouldn't be the same without some heart warming holiday traditions. Here are some of the best things that my family loves to do around Christmas!

1. Reading the Christmas Story

Before opening presents, it's important to remind ourselves what Christmas is really about - the birth of Jesus, God's gift to the world!

2. Making cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning

Having a special Christmas breakfast makes the morning even better. Whether you have cinnamon rolls or french toast or something else, it's nice to look forward to good food on Christmas morning!

3. Chocolate advent calendars

When I was younger, I got a chocolate calendar every year. Throughout the month of December, I got to have a piece of chocolate every morning before going to school, which made every day better!

4. Listening to Christmas music while opening presents

Having the music playing in the background makes it even more festive when opening Christmas gifts.

5. Driving around to see the lights

My family never really decorated the outside of our house growing up, so I loved getting to see the decorations on other houses in the neighborhood!

6. Making Christmas cookies

Everyone knows that making the Pillsbury sugar cookies with reindeer, Christmas trees, and snowmen on them are a part of Christmas. Along with other holiday flavors, I love making (and eating) Christmas cookies.

7. Christmas pajamas

Getting new pajamas for Christmas is always my favorite tradition - I'm always down for comfy sleepwear!

8. Watching all the Hallmark movies

They might all have the same plot. They might all have the same actors. I will still watch them all and enjoy every minute of them.

9. Christmas countdown

I'm the person who keeps a Christmas countdown going all year long, but it's way more exciting when December 1st hits.

10. Presents on Christmas Eve, stockings on Christmas morning

I used to have to split my holiday between my parents, so my family got into the habit of opening presents the night before Christmas and saving the stockings for the morning. It might be different, but I look forward to it every year.

One of the most dreaded places on campus is the library. Nothing awesome ever happens here. Usually, the only reason you're here is because you've procrastinated so long that the library is the only place you'll actually get stuff done. It gives you this feeling of sadness and impending doom. You have no idea how this is going to go or how long you'll be here, but you do know it is about to be the most excruciating experiences yet. But it has to get done, so you drag yourself to the lovely library.

With each new year comes new goals.

Deciding on a goal can be hard, unsure of what to change for this new year. A new goal for myself is to be happier and take care of myself more. I am a very driven person; so driven that I commit to a million and ten things.

It is that time of year again. Christmastime. It is one of my favorite seasons for a myriad of reasons. Here are just a few reasons why I love Christmas. This list is in no order of importance.

1. The Christmas decorations

I am that person who will decorate directly after Thanksgiving is over. This year, my roommates and I put the tree up in our apartment before we even left for Thanksgiving break. It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.
