Beautiful Traveling Places

There's nothing more exciting than looking at, buying or decorating Christmas trees to start the Christmas season. There's just something magical about them. Seeing them light up and twinkle through the fir branches (which smell divine, might I add). But perhaps my favorite part about Christmas trees is that no tree is the same. They may all look the same in their natural form, but once a family buys one and decorates it, it transforms to reflect them and their personalities. Their favorite ornaments, traditions, and colors make it unique and beautiful to fit their character.

So, if you're stuck in a library studying for finals or working overtime and stressed out about life, here's a few of the most outlandish, unique Christmas trees from around the world that are sure to light up your eyes for a moment.

1) World's Largest Floating Christmas Tree, Rio de Janeiro

This nearly 280 foot tree, located in Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas in Copacabana, lights up the city with its annual event that includes fireworks, music and dance. The tree has a different theme each year. Are you wondering what it looks like at night? Look no further:

2) The Galeries Lafayette Haussman, Paris

The Galeries Lafayette, a renowned department store in Paris, creates an elaborate Christmas tree underneath their 100-year old dome every year. The tree above was made out of thousands of Swarovski crystals.

The partisan store's theme last year was "Christmas from another planet", which included a light show twice a day.

3) Hansaplatz, Dortsmund, Germany

Scaling a height of 147 feet, the Hansaplatz marketplace has a magnificent piece of work sparkling among it. This tree is uniquely made out of 1,700 individual spruce trees stacked together within a frame of glistening lights. How cool is that?!

4) Piazza Venezia, Rome, Italy

The extraordinary Christmas trees found around piazzas and the coliseum will be sure to take your breath away with their light features and beauty (not to mention being surrounded by remarkable historic landmarks).

5) Rockefeller Plaza, New York City, USA

Of course, the Rockefeller Christmas tree is not to be forgotten. Standing among the city's skyscrapers, this beauty embraces the Christmas spirit when it comes to life in the lighting ceremony.

6) Trafalger Square, London, United Kingdom

The beautiful, statuesque tree in Trafalger Square is graciously donated by Norway every year since 1947 to show their gratitude for Britain's support during World War II.

7) National Christmas Tree, Washington D.C., USA

This picture-perfect Christmas tree is donated by GE Lighting every year. For the 2016 design, GE created red, white and blue lights with twinkling stars descending down the tree. The lighting ceremony is hosted by the President of the United States and First Lady.

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
