Ah, Christmas. Nothing is better than seeing (almost) everywhere you go being beautifully decorated with twinkly lights, hearing those corny Christmas songs on the radio, and seeing people chaotically rush around -- buying gifts. There's nothing like it.
And well, Christmas or Winter break is currently upon us, which is the most amazing opportunity for students to catch up on some things -- non-academic related.
So, college students, this one is for you:
Hibernation (this is not an over exaggeration).
You're probably still exhausted/trying to re-coop from your semester in college. Heck, you might still be in shock that you even survived the semester. Either way, you are going to be sleeping WAY more than usually this break. (My record sleeping thus far is twelve hours but, no one needs to know that). Let's be real, all those times you crammed and stayed up late to get those tedious projects done, you were secretly imagining yourself for break to come--- to sleep. So, don't be ashamed! Go and rest your brain as must as you can. You are totally deserving.
T'is The Season To Eat Cookies!
Maybe you have adapted or abused coffee this semester. If that's the case, well then you're going to love this. Coffee lovers-- this one is for you! Someone came up with an amazing idea to make Cafe' Coffee Cookies and share the ingredients to the world by your's truly, Betty Crocker. Ugh, I am absolutely in love with these cookies. You can thank me later.
Make New Traditions With You, Your Friends and Family.
The great thing about being a college student is having the close friends that you make at your university, but also being able to see your family during the holidays! So, make new memories with them. My favorite Christmas/wintry outing is ice skating with friends, or going to the city to see the light shows (without getting trampled). But, come out of your comfort zone and do something that you enjoy such as: making some cool Christmas DIY's, traveling, or trying new food -- whatever brings you joy.
Christmas Movie Marathon.
If you're like me, you probably don't just watch one Christmas movie in one sitting. Instead, you watch every Christmas movie in one sitting. If that is so, I totally support your decision. Good job for being able to do so: I salute you.
P.S. even though this is non-Christmas-movie-related, watch the Gilmore Girls revival on Netflix if you have not already.
Anyway, these are just a few Christmas traditions that most of us (hopefully) share. I also hope that you found this article somewhat amusing. Fun fact: sometimes my sarcastic sense of humor does not come across as funny, but thanks to those who did find it as being so.
Have a wonderful Christmas season and enjoy your time off before the spring semester starts.
Your's truly,
Jacqueline
