Christmas Time Was Great
My uncle Colvin

It is now the day after Christmas and I'm sure all of you are so filled with joy and happiness that you all got to spend this wonderful holiday with your family, friends, and loved ones. I know I am. I am so stuffed from all the delicious food and yummy desserts that were on that dinner table. Yummy yummy.

My family, every year, has our traditional Christmas dinner on the day before Christmas. Christmas Eve. We celebrate it on Christmas Eve so that we can just relax on Christmas day. My family isn't one of those families where we dress up nicely for dinner. When we're having dinner, we like to eat comfortably. We just started making Christmas pajamas a family tradition for dinner. When we do dress nicely, we take lots and lots of family pictures on Christmas day.

This year, we had our Christmas dinner at my uncle's house (it's usually at my house). Since I'm Asian, it's only right to celebrate with Asian food. This year, we went with a Spicy Thai Noodle Soup with Laotian sticky rice, egg rolls (which were very delicious by the way), BBQ wings, and a Laotian papaya salad. What a delicious meal it was! I was eating and eating until I couldn't fill up my stomach anymore! My family is very casual so we just eat wherever we want. I sat with the girls, which included my mom and my aunts, and we just ate and talked. I was having a wonderful time!

Right after dinner, we decided to open the Christmas gifts! My little brothers and baby cousins were super excited to open their presents that we couldn't keep them away from tearing their gifts all at once! We had to make sure to calm them down and tell them to wait until every gift has been passed out and then they could open their gifts. Once everyone got their gifts, we all opened them together. It was fun and exciting to watch! Many eyes sparkled as they opened their gifts and saw what they got. They were extremely happy and grateful for their gifts.

I got a bunch of stuff as well, which made me very happy! I was gifted a fuzzy hat, which came along with fuzzy socks, face masks, makeup wipes, a Sephora gift card, a Starbucks gift card, gas gift card (what I REALLY needed), Christmas pajama pants, makeup kit, handbag, and some necklaces! At that time, I was just so happy that I got all of these. I really wasn't expecting gifts from anyone because I'm all grown up now, however; I'm extremely grateful for my family for thinking of me and going out to buy me gifts for Christmas.

After our gift opening, we celebrated my grandmother's 63 birthday (which is on the 28th of December), blowing out the candles and eating cake as well as gingerbread cookies, tiramisu, and brownie cakes made by one of my aunts. They were so delicious and I couldn't get enough. I was eating all those desserts up like crazy! Soon, the party died down as the older folks left to retire for the night and us girls decided to make coffee and eat desserts while watching a movie. You would think that because it's a Christmas celebration that we would watch a Christmas movie. Ha nope! We ended up picking Cinderella (2015 movie) and watched it.

I was really enjoying my Christmas celebration with my family. It made me really happy and always reminds me that family is for life. I love my family and I don't know what I would do without them. I hope you all have enjoyed your Christmas holiday with your loved ones and experienced the joy and love as I have. Here's another Merry Christmas to you all and can't wait to write for you for the New Year's!

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

11 Moments Every College Freshman Has Experienced

Because we made it, and because high school seniors deserve to know what they're getting themselves into

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!
