Christmas Time Presented By The Sims

The good, the bad, and The Sims during the holidays.

With the holiday season in full swing, and with one week left until Christmas, I'm sure you're panicking like I am about all the things you still need to do. Your time and patience are becoming more unpredictable, and there are many things that you may or may not be looking forward to this season. To get through this, and to give you a laugh, I have put together a list of the good and bad holiday moment presented through The Sims.

Starting with The Bad:

1. Having to clean the house before family comes over.

We've all been there. Dusting the shelves, cleaning our rooms, and scrubbing the toilets. It's the jobs we most hate but the ones we have to do in order to seem like we live like civil human beings in front of our families. There is a good side though: you won't have to deep clean like this again until your next big event.

2. Trying to buy gifts for everyone.

No, I am not suggesting to steal them. It's just hard out there for a hardworking individual to want to buy the most amazing things for the people they love. If you're desperate or hard on cash, even the smallest or handmade item can mean something big to someone.

3. Dealing with THOSE relatives.

Maybe someone had too much eggnog. Or maybe that one family member wants to discuss politics at the dinner table. It might seem like the conflict or crazy will never end, but sometimes you have to just grin and accept these people as your family, and that this holiday is only once a year.

4. Helping with Christmas dinner.

Whether it's turkey, ham, or just watching the stove for a moment, BE CAREFUL. No one wants the smell of burnt Christmas on their consciousness.

Okay, now we can move into The Good:

1. Getting everyone into the Christmas spirit.

Whether it's playing some songs, having a fire going, or putting up some festive decorations, your family and friends will either appreciate or hate how much effort you put into trying to get them into the spirit of things.

2. Getting to kiss your significant other under the mistletoe.

When it's Christmas time, the love comes out even more so than Valentine's Day. Whether it's cozy cuddles next to warm fires, or with hot coco, or giving gifts that you know your significant other will love and receiving that perfect kiss under the mistletoe. Christmas is about cherishing one another, and nothing is more satisfying than having someone else to share that with.

3. Jamming out to your favorite Christmas songs.

It could be Mariah Carey, Michael Bublé, or even some Elvis Presley, but once those radio stations start playing those festive songs, you know your feet will start moving and you'll be singing your heart out during every car ride.

4. Putting together the perfect Christmas outfit.

The perfect sweater, ironed pants, and the time spent on your hair is all done in hopes you can pass as presentable in front of grandma, and still look as cool as your siblings, cousins, or friends. Christmas outfits are always what you're planning in your head the day before, making sure there is enough time to shower and prime yourself before the big day.

In the end, through the good or the bad, hopefully you will still have a memorable Christmas this year, and for those on after. In Sims time Christmas has already came and went, but at least you have a little more time and control over yours.

Merry Christmas!

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
