When do you start to listen to Christmas music? Right after Halloween? After Thanksgiving? One week before Christmas? Or maybe only on Christmas? However and whenever you listen to Christmas music, your timing is not off. Some people listen to it all year round. I personally will start listening to it right after Halloween, November is the Christmas season for me.
Some people are actually angry if you’re listening to Christmas music before Thanksgiving, they don’t even want you to hum a Christmas tune. On the other hand, some people openly embrace the Christmas season in November, like the Hallmark Channel for example. I can’t stand Christmas movies, but I love Christmas music. The Christmas season is great, the snow, the music, and the generally happier people you encounter on the street.
Everyone starts the “festivities” at different times. Even within my own family we disagree on when is the right time to start “celebrating.” It’s common for people to get in the seasonal spirit at different times. Even when the holiday isn’t Christmas, there is a different timeframe everyone follows.
Thanksgiving is coming up soon, and after that, just about everyone is in the Christmas spirit. But if you’re feeling Christmas-deficient, just go to Walmart or Cracker Barrel, where they’ve been knee deep in the Christmas festivities for a while. And don’t be ashamed to jam out to some Christmas music pre-Thanksgiving, it’s perfectly normal to want to embrace the Christmas spirit before your friends.
