5 Christmas Things I Love To Do

Not everyone has a fabulous Christmas, but it's the meaning we get out of it.

December has finally come, and I just wanted to list a few of my favorite things to do around this holly jolly time of year. I wanted to share with you all some of the fun things you can do to get in the Christmas spirit.

1. Binge Watch Christmas Movies All Day

This is one of my favorite things to do, as "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" and "Elf" are just a couple of my favorite movies to watch over and over again around the holiday season. Also, Freeform (we used to know it as ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas) is also addicting to watch. Netflix also has some great Christmas movies out right now.

2. Bake Christmas Cookies and Goodies

You can never go wrong with the Christmas sweets and the classic sugar cookie. Sometimes, I'm lazy and I just grab the Pillsbury pack of sugar cookies from the grocery store. I love having a variety of Christmas goodies, though, such as peanut brittle, layer bars, chocolate-covered pretzels, seasonal cupcakes, Bing Bars, and a whole lot more goodies.

3. Drive Around and Look at Christmas Lights

One of my favorite things to do around the holiday season is drive around at night and look at Christmas lights. It kind of makes you feel like a little kid again and hypes you up in the Christmas spirit. All the lights, blow-ups, trees, and wreaths -- you just can't go without it.

4. Listen to Christmas Music

I actually recently got Apple Music and I have every Christmas song and playlist you can imagine. Pandora, Spotify and even some radio stations play Christmas music or have certain stations for Christmas Music. It's something I enjoy while looking at Christmas lights or just in general, as I also like listening to it on the way to work or school.

5. Christmas Gifts and Giving Back

I love Christmas shopping and I love giving back to others. Not everyone has a fabulous Christmas, but it's the meaning we get out of it -- of people getting together. For me, I love giving back to those in need around the holiday season. No child or person should go without food, a coat, or even love during Christmas, so I do my best to give back to the community, as I've known people who suffered or are homeless, and I think it's something we as human beings need to think twice about.

These are just a few of my favorite Christmasy things to do!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Whether you're commuting or dorming, your first year of college is a huge adjustment. The transition from living with parents to being on my own was an experience I couldn't have even imagined- both a good and a bad thing. Here's a personal archive of a few of the things I learned after going away for the first time.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
