As November comes to an end, people can't help but getting a little eager for the festive season. People stock up on cooking ingredients and stores prepare at least a month in advanced. Christmas presents are bought before they sell out, and Christmas ads gradually work their way onto TV again. Needless to say, it's almost inevitable from getting excited days before December. So here's a list of things to look forward to when the countdown to Christmas officially begins.
Christmas treats.
Who can resist ginger bread, sugar cookies and candy canes on this festive holiday? Homemade or store bought, Christmas treats are hard to resist. Even though you may not be a master chef, it's undeniably fun to bake some cookies and decorate them with others.
Decorating the tree.
It doesn't matter if you're 10 or 20, decorating the Christmas tree is one of the most sentimental traditions of the season. Ornaments can come from anywhere - children might make them at school and bring them home to their families, and others might buy them in local gift shops on vacation. Hanging up all the different ornaments can leave you with nostalgia, especially in regards to friends and family that make you smile. Although setting up the tree and trying to find that one dead bulb in the whole string of lights can be a hassle, it's still one of the many traditions that can bring a family together.
Sweaters (preferably ugly ones).
There isn't a better time to snuggle up in cozy sweaters. Sweaters are the best form or seasonal apparel (besides pajamas) to keep you warm and comfy. Not to mention, they can be worn at any ugly sweater parties you might be invited to. And if you're really feeling festive, why not get a Christmas sweater that lights up?
Presents.
Whether you prefer to give them or receive them more, presents are one of the best ways to show love or appreciation for someone. Presents can be simple like a mug or a necklace, and they can also be pricey like a new car or a trip to Hawaii. But no matter how big, small, or expensive a gift may be; it's always the thought that counts.
Christmas movies and TV specials.
Classic Christmas movies can be easily found on a number of channels. Movies like Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer and How the Grinch Stole Christmas never fail to bring back that child-like sense of wonder in all of us. TV shows often get in on the holiday themes by releasing Christmas specials, some of which reference famous Christmas movies.
Of course there's many more things to get you hyped for the most wonderful time of the year, these are just a few thoughts to keep you on edge until the first day of December declares the beginning of the holiday season.
